PIJAK ORANG RUMAH

Pertamanya, saya harap para isteri tidak berkecil hati dengan istilah orang rumah ini. Sebab apa ? Sebab besar gelaran itu buat para isteri - orang rumah. Ertinya dialah penjaga kerukunan rumahtangga. Bayangkan kalau si isteri tak mahu buat kerja rumah, belum tentu si suami dapat buat seperti apa yang si isteri buat.

Tetapi, laporan yang saya baca ini sangat dahsyat.

KUALA LUMPUR: A businessman was sentenced to four months’ jail by the magistrate's court here yesterday for battering his wife at their house last week. 

Nasroon Hafiz Ramli, 24, pleaded guilty to injuring his 21-year-old wife by punching her in the face and stomping on her body and face at the PPR Beringin here on Feb 23 at 8.30am.  

Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som ordered the father-of-two to serve the jail sentence from the date of the arrest on Feb 23. The charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 326A of the same act, carries a prison sentence of up to two years.  

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Farah Adilah Noordin asked the court to impose a deterrent sentence, but Nasroon who was not represented, appealed for a lighter sentence, claiming he had repented. According to the facts of the case, the victim, who wanted to prepare a meal, had asked her husband to tend to their eight-month-old baby, but was ignored by him. Nasroon Hafiz then hit his wife after she told their eldest daughter to dispose of the breakfast that she had bought her earlier. -- BERNAMA

Saya tak nampak apa kesalahan besar yang isterinya buat sampai kena tumbuk di muka dan dipijak di badannya. Eh, kau tahu tak pijak ? Macam kita pijak lipas yang lalu depan mata tu ?

Kau ingat isteri kau lipas ke sampai nak dipijak-pijak gitu ?

Umur suami 24 tahun. Umur isteri 21 tahun. Pasangan muda. Saya percaya kedua-duanya berdarah panas. Bila dilaporkan ada anak yang sulong tapi tak dinyatakan umur, boleh jadi mereka telahpun berkahwin selama beberapa tahun. Boleh jadi juga ketika umur suami baru 21 tahun, manakala umur isteri 18 tahun. Mungkin ya, mungkin.

Kalau baru tempoh sebegini kau sudah marah-marah sampai memijak isteri engkau, tak tahulah berapa lama pasangan ini boleh bertahan. Trauma kot perempuan tu kena pijak dengan suami sendiri.
